Beating other brands to the chase, Xiaomi has become the first in the race to bringing 5G smartphones to the Indian market. In a surprise move, yesterday Xiaomi India took to Twitter to announce that it would be launching the futuristic Mi MIX Alpha in the region - the next day. Simultaneously, an online event page for the phone also went live on the smartphone manufacturer's official webpage.
Xiaomi's previously delayed foldable smartphone is out now and can be purchased from select Mi Home outlets across the nation. The Mi Homes mentioned by name in the announcing tweet included the Embassy Tech Village and Indiranagar stores in Bangalore. Others were revealed in the launch video given below.

Apart from the screen-to-body ratio of 180.6%, the foldable smartphone also comes equipped with an impressive 108MP camera, Snapdragon 855+ chipset, 5G connectivity, 12GB RAM, 512GB internal storage space, and a 4,050mAh battery with 40W fast charging.
As for the price, while Xiaomi India has yet to confirm an official price for the Mi MIX Alpha in the local currency, at launch the phone was announced to cost ¥19,990 in China (~$2813) which translates to approximately ₹204,495.
