Micron to make Hynix offer today

Newspaper in Korea's capital Seoul, claimed that US memory firm Micron will make a formal offer for part of Hynix' DRAM business today.

It also reports that "talks" between Hynix and Infineon, which were always denied by the CEO of the German firm, are now complete.

No details were given of how much Micron may offer for the parts of the Hynix memory business it wants, but the wire reports an unnamed member of the Korea Bank as saying the proposal would be delivered today.

It will be a committee of creditors who are owed a vast quantity of money by Hynix which will decide whether Micron's deal is viable or risible.
