Microsoft has been promoting the use of Internet Explorer 9 through a new TV commercial campaign that first launched in March. Now Microsoft has announced it has teamed up with PC maker Dell to offer yet another commercial that tries to show the features of IE 9. The commercial began airing on US TV networks on Sunday.
The ad shows a family using IE 9 on their touch screen enabled Dell all-in-one PC to play games, along with viewing pictures and more. There's also a URL in the commercial that takes people to a page on Dell's website that promotes using Internet Explorer even more.
It's clear that Microsoft sees a need to have people use IE on their PCs as other competitors, include Google's Chrome and Mozilla's Firefox, have taken some market share away from IE over the past few years. However, Microsoft has also been promoting the fact that users of Windows 7 have been using IE 9 more and more in both the US and the world.
With the launch of Windows 8, and Internet Explorer 10, now just months away, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft continues to promote and market IE to the world in the near future.
