Microsoft has announced new apps coming to the Xbox One, including the first ever Reddit app designed for TV, named ReddX.
The ReddX app looks quite impressive, especially considering this is version 1.0, and there’s no doubt that fans of the Xbox One and Reddit will be thrilled with it. Here are some of the features coming to the console via the ReddX app:
- Sign-in to your Reddit Accout
- Support for subreddits, GIFs and embedded videos
- Support for posting comments, upvoting and starting new threads
- Voice Commands including upvoting and snapping
The app will become available tomorrow, but here’s the downside: the app is only available to the US and Canada for now. And that’s likely because of all the voice features.
Aside from ReddX, Xbox One users can also look forward to a new MTV app that offers bonus clips, sneak peeks and full episodes of the "Music Television's" shows. The new MTV app will only launch in the US for now.
Finally, Twitch is getting an update with some new features. Included are auto-zoom, audio capture from headsets. There’s also a new section called “watch with friends” where you can check-out the channels that your friends are currently watching.
Editor's Note: This article was edited to reflect that users DON'T need an Xbox Live Gold subscription to use ReddX.
