It didn't take long for Microsoft to join Nintendo in saying that they are flattered that Sony decided to copy a key feature of their next generation console. While Nintendo brought up similarities between the controllers, Microsoft's Chris Lewis believes that Sony may have copied Microsoft's successful Live service. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Lewis says, "I'm flattered that they've followed our clear direction. Plagiarism is a good thing - that in itself isn't such a problem, it's what the market wants. But we've known that's what the market wanted all along."
While the initial similarities seem obvious, one must wonder exactly how similar the two services are really going to be. For starters, Microsoft's Live costs $50 US for a 12 month subscription. Sony plans on making it's Playstation Network Platform free of cost.
