How to Become a Beta Product Tester for Broadband Networking

Beta testing is an integral part of the Microsoft commitment to develop and deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs. Beta testers install, test, and report bugs on the latest versions of Microsoft products.

The Microsoft® Broadband Networking product group has teamed up with BetaPlace to offer a Broadband Networking beta testing program.

Beta setup requirements

In order to use and test the Broadband Networking components that are part of the beta program, your network setup must meet a few minimum requirements.

Before visiting BetaPlace and filling out the screening survey, you'll want to ensure that you have the following:

  • An active broadband Internet connection.
  • Two or more computers, each running Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, or Windows XP.
  • A laptop computer as part of your network. If you don't have a laptop computer, then one of your computers needs a PCI/PCMCIA adapter.
