In its latest festive promotions, Microsoft is offering some chunky discounts on the Surface 3, the more affordable tablet alternative to its Surface Pro range, for buyers in the US and the UK.
In the UK, the Microsoft Store is offering £50 off the entry-level Surface 3 with 64GB storage and 2GB of RAM, bringing its price down to £369. The next model up - with 128GB storage and 4GB of RAM - gets a slightly larger £60 discount, reducing its price from £499 to £439.
You'll also get a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription (worth £59.99) if you buy before the end of this month, along with a three-month NOW TV Entertainment Pass, and for a limited time, you can additionally get 30% off various protective sleeves for the tablet.
In the UK, the price reductions will continue to run until January 16, 2016. However, these discounts do not extend to the Surface 3 models with 4G LTE connectivity - but these variants have been out of stock at Microsoft Store UK for several weeks anyway.
On the other side of the Atlantic, you can currently get $100 off the entry-level Surface 3 - the only variant currently in stock at the US Microsoft Store. That brings its price down from $499 to $399, and also includes a one-year Office 365 Personal subscription (worth $69.99) as long as you buy before December 31, 2015. If you purchase a Type Cover for the device as well, you'll get an additional $50 off until January 2, 2016.
With those discounts combined, that means that you can get a Surface 3 (64GB / 2GB RAM) and Type Cover for $478.99, instead of the regular price of $628.99.
