At Build 2020, Microsoft announced new features for Chromium Edge. The new feature list included Pinterest integration, sidebar search option, and Bing improvements. While the company noted that these features will roll out to Edge Insiders in the coming weeks, Microsoft has already started rolling out Pinterest integration to Edge Canary users.
In case you missed the initial announcement, the Pinterest integration will work with the Edge Collections feature and will show recommendations from Pinterest in Collections. The feature will also allow users to export Collections to Pinterest. Microsoft said that the feature will be available in the coming weeks but the company has already rolled out a new Canary update which comes with the option to enable Pinterest integration.
If you are using Microsoft Edge Canary version 84.0.521.0 or above, you can enable Pinterest integration by following the steps below:
- Open Edge Canary and go to Settings>Privacy and Services.
- Scroll down to Services and enable "Show suggestions from Pinterest in Collections."
Microsoft explained the feature as:
Microsoft Edge can find suggestions from Pinterest to add to your collections. If you turn this on, Collections will use your collection title to search for relevant Pinterest Topic pages in Microsoft Bing. Selecting suggestions at the bottom of your collection will take you to relevant Pinterest Topic pages.
Do note that you will need to sign in with your Pinterest account and allow Collections to see all your boards to generate new pins. To disable this feature, you will need to follow the same steps and disable the "Show suggestions from Pinterest in Collections” option.
