Since the release of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to Android in 2015, the Office apps have received continuous updates meant to enhance their performance and expand their features. The number of installs for the apps continued to grow as well, and now the Excel and PowerPoint apps have crossed the 500 million install mark.
It is worth pointing out, however, that some Android phones already come with these primary Office apps preloaded. Nonetheless, the latest milestone achieved by Excel and PowerPoint is no small feat.
The Office apps for Android regularly receive updates on a monthly basis. Most recently, Microsoft rolled out updates to Office Insiders on Android, introducing a bevy of improvements to Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Last month, Office for Android was also on the receiving end of a few quality of life improvements for Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Those updates included the word count display for Word, the ability to delete contacts and a Do Not Disturb option in Outlook, and the sideways style of editing the slides in PowerPoint.
If you haven't installed the primary Office apps onto your Android phone yet, you may want to give it a try by downloading them from the Google Play Store.
