Microsoft has released the second service pack for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, adding a number of new features to the server software program designed for enterprise customers. Microsoft previously released the first service pack for the software back in August 2010.
Microsoft said this second service pack was designed based on customer feedback. The update has support for 13 languages for servers and 66 languages for clients.
This second service pack, which can be downloaded at Microsoft's web site, has a long list of new additions, changes and bug fixes which can be read at the Microsoft Technet web site. One of them is the Hybrid Configuration Wizard, which Microsoft says gives users of Exchange Server 2010 "a streamlined process to configure a hybrid deployment between on-premises and Office 365 Exchange organizations."
Another new feature has been added specifically for users of mobile operating systems. Microsoft had added a mini-version of the of Outlook Web App to the second service pack. The company said it is a "lightweight browser-based client, similar to the Outlook Mobile Access client in Exchange 2003." Exchange Server 2010 owners can use the web app for basic features such as accessing and composing emails, accessing and editing calendars, handing meeting requests and more.
