Even as Nokia revealed its Windows Phone 7-based devices this week, Microsoft still isn't done with promoting its mobile operating system. Winrumors.com reports that media outlets are being invited to attend a press event in New York City on Monday, November 7 where presumably there will be some news announcements.
The invite included images of two of Samsung's upcoming Windows Phone 7-based devices, the Focus Flash and Focus S, along with HTC's big Titan smartphone. None of these smartphones have been released here in the US yet. The images show an AT&T logo on all three phones which would seem to indicated that AT&T will be at least one of the carriers that will sell these devices.
Microsoft is also hinting that the event will also have some other kind of "big thing" and that there will be a "unique experience” after the press event is held in NYC's Herald Square. Those kinds of words bring up all sorts of ideas in our head. Are we going to see a really, really big phone in Herald Square? As far as an unique experience, that could mean anything over in New York City.
In any case, it appears that Microsoft has waited until Apple, Motorola and Samsung got all of their big smartphone announcements out of the way before making some buzz of its own. Will it be enough to get people to purchase these devices in the busy holiday season or will it fall short? We will soon see.
