Two months ago, Microsoft announced a number of new features that were coming to the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar applications. These included things like Focused Inbox, faster search, Interesting Calendars, summary cards for flight reservations and package deliveries, and more.
There was just one problem: all of these features were just for those with an Outlook or Office 365 email address. Today, the company announced that they're coming to Gmail users as well.
If you're not familiar, Focused Inbox divides your email up into two folders: Focused and Other, with your more important messages going into the former. It's something that has been available on the Outlook mobile apps on iOS and Android for some time, so Windows 10 users should be glad to be caught up.
The features will roll out to Insiders over the next few weeks, with general availability coming after Microsoft has reviewed feedback.
But in order to use any of these features, you'll need to update your account settings. For them to work, all of your emails, contacts, and calendars will need to be synced to the Microsoft Cloud, and the company needs your permission to do that.
