If you're considering buying a Surface Pro 4 in the US, you'd be a fool to pay full price for the device unless you really can't wait. Microsoft is now offering regular discounts and promotions on the tablet, so it's certainly worth waiting until the model you've got your eye on comes down in price.
Eight days after ending a deal offering $150 off two models in the Surface Pro 4 range, Microsoft has now cut $100 off some of its most high-end tablets:
- Intel Core i7 / 256GB SSD / 8GB RAM | usually $1,599 | now $1,499
- Intel Core i7 / 256GB SSD / 16GB RAM | usually $1,799 | now $1,699
- Intel Core i7 / 512GB SSD / 16GB RAM | usually $2,199 | now $2,099
Notably, while the other Core i7 models are eligible for the deal, this latest discount does not apply to the range-topping Surface Pro 4 with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, which remains at its usual price of $2,699.
The discount will remain available on those eligible devices until April 30, 2016. In another concurrent deal, expiring on the same date, buyers of certain Surface Pro 4 (and Surface Book) models can also get $100 off a Surface Dock with their purchase.
Last week, Microsoft unveiled a new luxury version of its Surface Pro 4 keyboard: the 'Signature Type Cover', featuring Alcantara fabric. You can get a closer look at it in our hands-on video.
