Since its launch almost two years ago, the Lumia 520 has gone from strength to strength, becoming the most popular Windows Phone of all time. When it first went on sale, the device was also the most affordable Windows Phone ever, and its price has continued to fall since then.
Indeed, despite newer entry-level handsets such as the Lumia 435, 532 and 535 coming along, the 520 remains on sale in many parts of the world, including the US, where Microsoft is now selling the device for just $29 off-contract via its eBay outlet store.
Despite being on eBay, the handsets on sale are brand new - rather than being refurbished or otherwise resold - although they are locked to AT&T's network. Make sure you can get the handset unlocked before you buy.
Key specs of the Lumia 520 include:
- 4.0-inch IPS LCD with WVGA (800x480px) resolution
- Dual-core 1.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
- 512MB RAM
- 8GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 64GB)
- 5MP rear camera with auto-focus and 720p video
- Ambient light sensor, accelerometer, proximity sensor
- Bluetooth 4.0
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- 1430mAh battery
- 119.9 x 64 x 9.9mm; 124g
The device is available in a 'limited quantity' at this price, so if you're considering placing an order, don't wait too long. AT&T hasn't yet released its Lumia Denim update for the 520, so if you decide to order one, you won't be able to update it to the latest OS version immediately.
