Microsoft has begun rolling out invitations to purchase the third wave of HoloLens Development Edition devices, according to Windows Central.
Microsoft's own website still says that it's still shipping to the second wave. It's likely that this is only because the third wave is just starting to roll out in the invitation phase. Microsoft says that each wave will ship over two to three months, which is worth noting because the first wave of invites only began rolling out just over two months ago.
Those that receive the invite will have three to four weeks to purchase the device, and while they're waiting for it, they'll be invited to attend demo events in Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York.
It's always good to see Microsoft moving so quickly with HoloLens progress. In fact, last week, the firm shipped the first major update for Windows Holographic and then opened up the platform the next day.
Update: Microsoft has updated its information to state that each wave is projected to ship within 3-4 weeks.
