Microsoft has released a new mobile application, HealthVault Insights, to offer users some insights into their lifestyles. The company, last week, pledged to employ AI and cloud technologies to "transform healthcare" with its Healthcare NeXt initiative, which includes HealthVault Insights.
The app is intended for both healthcare providers, who can create and deliver customized chronic care or wellness plans for their patients, as well as for the patients themselves, who can customize and manage their health plans. They can also communicate via the app, thus making the exchange a lot more convenient.
As the name suggests, the app brings insights into the patient's health condition and can connect to other apps and devices such as Apple Health and Google Fit. It also helps them "discover trends, correlations, and patterns about their health" so that they can approach their life with a better understanding of their condition.
The app's features include:
Personal analytics: Applies machine learning on both unique individual trends and across populations, increasing learning for the patient and provider
Cross-platform support: Works with iOS, Android, and Windows Phone and connects seamlessly with Apple Health and Google Fit
Medical records access: Fingertip access to all of a patient’s health records in HealthVault
Engagement platform: Enables personalization and notifications to increase patient engagement with their provider
Action plans framework: Providers can leverage the HealthVault Insights action plans framework to quickly customize and distribute care plans to their patients
Cortana integration: Connect Cortana to see how patients’ calendar and location may be impacting their health
Activity feed: Show summaries of patient activities, including device data and trends, in a single feed, enabling a new level of learning
The application is available for all mobile platforms in the US and UK but, its App Store entry is still under review.
You can download HealthVault Insights from the Google Play Store or the Windows Store.
