In September, Microsoft announced that it had hired Nancy Tellem, previously the president of CBS Television Studios, to run a new LA-based studio that will " ... develop interactive and linear content for Xbox and other devices." Now it looks like Microsoft's studio in London, England is also looking to hire someone with TV producing experience.
A new job listing on LinkedIn shows that the Soho Productions team in London is looking for an experienced TV producer to join their team. The job post says the producer would work to create a "new line of interactive television experiences to the world" that would support Xbox Live, as well as the Kinect motion gesture device.
The listing adds:
Working with leading global entertainment partners, we are creating experiences that are not bound by the traditional definitions of television or gaming. Experiences where watching and participating are inseparable that will delight and enrich the lives of people everywhere.
Applicants for this position must have worked "on a number of known TV IP" which means that this is definitely not an entry level position. It's possible that whatever the London Xbox Live team is working on could be made available for the next generation Xbox console, which is currently rumored to be set for launch by the end of 2013.
