Microsoft predicts that it will sell 4.5 to 5.5 million Xbox 360 consoles in the fiscal year that ends June 30, 2006. Sales of the much anticipated console begin November 22nd in the North America. While these expectations may appear lofty at first, it's actually a rather conservative number. With a simultaneous launch in the North American, European, and Japanese markets, one might expect higher sales figures.
Is the software giant playing it safe with estimates? Microsoft expects revenues from its home entertainment division, which includes Xbox, Microsoft TV, PC games and home consumer software, to grow by more than 50 percent this fiscal year to $4.8 billion, undoubtedly driven by the Xbox 360.
