Microsoft offering $100 off all Surface Pro 3 models but one until Saturday

Microsoft's flagship tablet is getting a temporary price cut on all models but one, with each version except for the entry-level Surface Pro 3 costing $100 less until Saturday.

In addition to the temporary price cut, Microsoft will provide a free protective sleeve for all versions of the Surface Pro 3, including the entry-level option, as part of a deal that lasts until April 5. The tablet sale means all Surface Pro 3 versions with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor are $100 off, while the i3 version will retain its $799 price for the duration of the offer.

The sale effectively mimics Microsoft's 12 Days of Deals promotion for the tablet, which offered the Surface Pro 3 with a free sleeve and a $100 promo code.

As with all computers running Windows 8.1, the Surface Pro 3 will receive a free upgrade to Windows 10 when Microsoft's new operating system is released later this year. The Surface Pro line is now essentially the only current tablet line Microsoft will extensively support, as the standard Surface line runs Windows RT, which will receive an operating system update that isn't Windows 10.
