Microsoft offers free Xbox Live week in Europe

Microsoft has announced that it is to host a free Xbox Live week for 360 gamers in September, in a bid to entice more gamers to the service.

Via a very enthusiastic press release, the American giant said it was opening its service up to the public – "If you love your friends, enjoy spending time chatting to them, playing games , downloading exclusive content and listening to music with them - then you'll really love Xbox Live," it began.

"The great news is that Xbox is feeling extra sociable this month and offering European gamers a chance to experience Xbox Live for over a week, absolutely free, from 20th to 29th September, 2006."
