Earlier this week, Microsoft released a new firmware update for its Surface Pro 3, bringing a fix for battery performance issues on some of those devices. Now, the company has rolled out new drivers for the tablet's newer siblings.
Three driver updates are now available for the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book:
- Microsoft driver update for Surface UEFI
- Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration
- Microsoft driver update for Surface Integration Service Device
As Windows Central notes, the UEFI driver is equivalent to a BIOS update on Surface devices. But the other two updates are far more ambiguous.
Unfortunately, Microsoft seems to be sticking with its increasingly tiresome 'release-now-explain-later' approach to delivering updates. While the new drivers began rolling out last night, the company still hasn't posted any details or changelogs on its Surface Update History pages, offering no explanation about the purpose of the updates, or the improvements and changes that they'll bring to users' devices.
