Microsoft released major new updates for the iOS and Android versions of OneNote earlier this month, adding many new features to both apps. However, some users of the Android version were posting comments on the app's Google Play Store page complaining that the app was not loading on their devices.
Late Monday, Microsoft issued an update to the OneNote Android app which is supposed to fix these problems. In a new post on the OneNote blog, Microsoft gives more information on the OneNote loading bug:
This only happened on devices which had a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which is used in select Android devices. When we first heard from you about this problem we blocked those devices and now with this update the app should be available on most devices.
Microsoft has been making a point to offer more and more of their software products on mobile platforms other than Windows Phone, although it would appear that the company is concentrating more on iOS than Android. Microsoft has recently released Office 365 and Outlook Web Apps for iOS but has yet to made either of these apps available for the larger Android market.
