As is typically the case on the Tuesday after a Windows 10 Insider Preview is released to the Fast ring, Microsoft today released a new Windows 10 SDK Insider Preview. The build number is the same, 18317, and as usual, there's not much that's new. In the blog post, Microsoft called out the new Luminosity feature for Fluent Design that it's been calling out.
This preview can work alongside of other Windows 10 SDKs, so you can use it in a production environment; however, apps submitted to the Microsoft Store will still need to target Windows 10 version 1809 or earlier. Unfortunately, this preview build will only install on Windows 10 Insider Previews from the 19H1 development branch.
With development of Windows 10 19H1 winding down, you can expect that Microsoft is beginning to finalize the APIs in the SDK. That means that we're not likely to see many new features get added between now and when 19H1 hits the RTM milestone in March.
If you want to download the new SDK, you can find it here.
