Today, Microsoft held its Surface event in New York to showcase its latest hardware products that include the Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2, Surface Studio 2, and Surface Headphones. Sometimes it's hard to appreciate the design of such products simply by looking at static images. Luckily, Microsoft has produced a few promotional videos for its new Surface hardware that give us an elegant look at some of the devices' more intricate features.
The design of the Surface Pro line has been refined over so many years that it doesn't come as a surprise that the Surface Pro 6 doesn't offer much in the way of changes. The new model offers the same identical design that makes use of a full friction hinge, 12.3-inch PixelSense Display, but now offers an eighth-generation Intel processor and comes in a new black colorway.
Last year's break out hit, the Surface Laptop, gets a sequel this year, powered by Intel's eighth-generation processor and getting a RAM bump on its entry model. You can expect the same craftsmanship with the Surface Laptop 2, made from a mix of aluminum, plastic and Alcantara material on the keyboard. The laptop will make use of Omnisonic speakers for a more robust sound and it will come in black.
The Surface Studio 2 is the grand-daddy of all of the Surface products revealed today, featuring a 28-inch PixelSense Display and can be configured with either an Nvidia GeForce 1060 or 1070. Like its predecessor, it will feature the Zero Gravity Hinge that will allow you to work with the screen at different angles.
Last but certainly not least, Microsoft announced the Surface Headphones, perhaps the most surprising product making its debut at the event. The headphones are crafted for use in all environments, with a design that looks good in professional and personal settings. There is a dial on the side that can be used to tune the amount of noise cancellation applied, while removing the headphones can automatically pause your music. It also wouldn't be a Microsoft product without the inclusion of Cortana.
Microsoft has offered up an array of new products that are sure to delight any fans of the company. A majority of them are available for pre-order with the exception of the Surface Headphones.
