It's been over a month since Microsoft released its last Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, build 10166, later pushing it to the Slow ring too. Of course, the company has had its hands full lately with the small matter of the biggest product launch in its history - but now that Windows 10 is already on millions of PCs, and the launch party is out of the way, Microsoft can now focus more on its smartphone release.
Microsoft isn't ready to roll out a new build just yet, but the company hasn't been completely slacking in its work on Windows 10 Mobile while its PC efforts were ongoing. Development has been continuing, and a new build is on the way - indeed, it's coming "soon".
Microsoft's Gabe Aul - who recently earned a rather nice promotion - said last week that the next Mobile build would have a higher number than 10240, the 'RTM' build of Windows 10 for PCs. But today, he revealed that the actual build number will be a lot higher, in the 105xx range:
While noting the company has a new build which seems to be a strong candidate for release, Aul also said that the build will not support any new devices, so if your handset doesn't yet work with the Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview, you'll have to sit the next one out too.
