"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" will come out in less than four weeks, but Microsoft is just now giving the first look at some of the remake anthology's most unique features.
In a video released on the Halo Waypoint website, senior designer Max Szlagor of developer 343 Industries discusses how the remake collection will help users track achievements and stats or compete against other Xbox Live members. For the collection, which includes the four numbered games of the main Halo storyline, 343 has created achievement lists for each entry in the series (as well as a list for achievements that carry through all the games) that allow users to jump directly to missions where those achievements can be obtained.
Beyond simply obtaining the achievements, gamers can also challenge their friends to compete for high scores or fast times in missions. The collection will also provide an interface overlay that indicates whether a gamer is falling behind the score or time of his or her "rival."
The video also gives perhaps the best look yet at "Halo 4" in the collection, running at 1080p and 60 frames per second. 343 has stated the game will include some additional improvements, such as lighting.
"Halo: The Master Chief Collection" releases for Xbox One on Nov. 11. Earlier today, Microsoft announced another new entry in the franchise, revealing the top-down shooter "Halo: Spartan Strike" will be released for Windows and Windows Phone on Dec. 12.
