Microsoft continues to add partnerships that bring new search results to its Bing service, such as its recently renewed deal with Twitter. Today, the popular travel ratings website, TripAdvisor, announced a new partnership with Microsoft that will add its user generated content to Bing's search results.
The press release states this is the first time that TripAdvisor has worked with a search engine to embed its data in search results, which includes 25 million reviews and opinions on over than 3.1 million accommodations. It added:
This allows people to quickly and easily compare hotel prices and availability via Bing's search results page, which now displays live pricing information from a range of global booking partners, provided by TripAdvisor's industry-leading metasearch tool.
The partnership also includes the newly launched TripAdvisor Windows 8.1 app, now available to download from the Windows Store. Integrated with Bing Smart Search, the app is designed to help travelers find the best hotels, restaurants and destinations around the world. Specific financial terms of the deal between TripAdvisor and Microsoft were not revealed.
This new agreement shows that Microsoft is still putting a lot of efforts to improve and extend the reach of Bing, despite calls from some analysts to sell off search engine.
