The car enthusiast community is a vast one and today, Microsoft has announced a new effort to appeal to the automobile fan. It includes a new partnership with Motor Trend magazine that will bring a new Motor Trend on MSN website online sometime in early 2014; the site will replace Microsoft's current MSN Autos website.
In a post on the Microsoft Advertising website, the company stated:
The central focus of the effort will be a completely redesigned, easy-to-use Buying Guide heavy on vital information and seamlessly integrated into the overall experience, including deep car comparison tools, engaging editorial, and professionally produced videos.
The site will be designed for easy access across PC, tablet and mobile devices and will feature exclusive content from Motor Trend's editorial team. Microsoft adds, "New social features will analyze millions of search and social signals to surface trending auto topics and allow for immediate sharing, complementing Motor Trend’s existing social media channels."
Of course, Microsoft Advertising is promoting the fact that Motor Trend on MSN will offer lots of opportunities for advertisers to reach new audiences, claiming that just one percent of the audience for Motor Trend currently overlap with the MSN readership.
