Microsoft is pulling no stops when it comes to its upcoming console, Project Scorpio. The much-awaited device, to be unveiled at E3 this year, will have a slew of first-party as well as third party titles to showcase 4K at the event, a partial list of which has been revealed.
Speculation has been plentiful that Microsoft is planning a strong line-up of games to display what Scorpio is truly capable of, and the company isn't playing around from the looks of it. The first-party titles to be showcased in true 4K include Forza 7, a Microsoft IP that won several awards last year for the stunning Horizon 3, along with State of Decay 2, and Crackdown 3.
The rather intriguing entries to the list are its third-party titles which include FIFA, Call of Duty (presumably the upcoming World War II), Madden, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Battlefront 2, which is not exactly surprising as the developers of the game made a brief cameo in the Scorpio teaser trailer at E3 last year. The console will also get another major title in the form of Middle-earth: Shadow of War later this year.
While the company is making a big push for 4K with the console, a demographic that it's certainly aiming to capture with features such as 4K DVR, it's not leaving the 1080p TV's behind. The device will come with supersampling technology which will "enhance" your gaming experience.
The premium console will also come packing with VR-capability, something we haven't heard much about. Microsoft may be saving some bits for the unveiling, but even so, the console is already impressing many.
