Microsoft has updated its Cortana app on Android with a few minor improvements that should make life a bit easier with the digital assistant on devices running Google's operating system.
The release notes for the new update, listed as version 2.1.7.1578-enus-release on Google Play, mention three tweaks to improve the app:
- Edit your favorite places in settings
- Control your notification settings
- Fixed accidental opt-out issue
Curiously, Google Play on some Android devices is actually showing the release notes for version 2.0.2, which was released in December, even when upgrading from 2.1.6 to 2.1.7:
We're not the only ones to have experienced that quirky issue, despite the listing correctly showing 2.1.7 as the "current version" of the app - our friends over at The Digital Lifestyle also spotted the old release notes on Google Play.
The latest update comes after Microsoft discontinued support for its Band 2 in Cortana for Android with version 2.1.5 last month.
