Microsoft’s Xbox Music app for Windows Phone can’t quite match its rivals, such as Spotify, in terms of features, but the company is gradually continuing to update it with incremental upgrades. Many of these focus on unspecified ‘bug fixes and improvements’, although the last one - released four weeks ago - added better integration of the new OneDrive cloud music feature.
Microsoft has now rolled out its latest update to the app on Windows Phone 8.1, bumping the version number up to 2.6.677 – and with it comes a couple of (fairly minor) new features.
In this latest release, you can now remove an item from your list of Recent Plays – convenient, but it’s hard to argue that that’s a killer feature. We’ll let Microsoft describe the second feature in its own words:
Tired of waiting for the app to sync? Now you can manually kick one off whenever you like from Settings.
…and that’s it as far as new features go. Microsoft says that this update “addresses some top feedback”, implying that these features were highly requested among users.
