Microsoft unveiled its new Surface Book three months ago in New York City, but availability has so far been restricted to North America. However, it announced a few hours ago that it would soon open pre-orders for the device in several new markets around the world, and having since done so in France and Germany, the Surface Book is now available to pre-order via the Microsoft Store in the United Kingdom too.
However, as in other European markets, not all of the Surface Book models that Microsoft offers for purchase or pre-order in the US and Canada will be available in the UK. Pricing in the UK is as follows:
- 128GB / Intel Core i5 / 8GB RAM = £1,299
- 256GB / Intel Core i5 / 8GB RAM = not available
- 256GB / Intel Core i5 / 8GB RAM + discrete GPU = £1,599
- 256GB / Intel Core i7 / 8GB RAM + dGPU = £1,799
- 512GB / Intel Core i7 / 16GB RAM + dGPU = £2,249
- 1TB / Intel Core i7 / 16GB RAM + dGPU = not available
While pre-orders are now open, buyers still face a lengthy wait before they take delivery of their new Surface Books - shipments aren't scheduled to begin until February 18.
