As announced last week, Microsoft has kicked off the Backward Compatibility Super Sale today, arriving right alongside the company's weekly Deals with Gold promotion. The Super Sale features quite a large number of deals to grab, with over 275 backward compatible Xbox 360 games being discounted. The promotion is slated to last until May 22.
As the Xbox One's Backward Compatibility Program ensures all these games are natively playable on the console, both Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners can make use of the discounts to expand their libraries. Moreover, unlike last month's Microsoft Spring Sale, the Super Sale's discounts are the same for both Xbox Live Gold members and non-Gold members.
Various games from popular franchises are discounted in the sale, with some highlights including the BioShock series from the original through Infinite, several Assassin's Creed entries, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, a range of Call of Duty games, as well as a couple of hundred other titles.
Meanwhile, this week's Deals with Gold and Spotlight sale also introduces some great discounts, such as Mirror's Edge Catalyst for 67% off and Destiny - The Collection for 35% off.
The entire extensive list of discounted games is available on Major Nelson's blog here. Note that every game with an asterisk next to it offers exclusive discounts to Xbox Live Gold members.
As a reminder for any Xbox Live Gold members that may have missed it, the free games made available through Microsoft's Games with Gold program were just refreshed, so be sure to grab them.
