Yesterday, there was a brief opportunity in the US to buy Microsoft's Lumia 830 with a massive $200 off the regular price - but the promo code that enabled that discount was quickly withdrawn.
Over in the UK, though, you can now buy the Lumia 830 with £100 off the regular price, bringing the cost of the device down to a much more appealing level than its usual £300 price.
Leading independent device retailer Carphone Warehouse is currently offering the Lumia 830 for just £199.99 SIM-free, along with a free Fitbit Flex activity and fitness tracker, worth £79.99. The handset is available in black, orange and green, and the discounted price even includes free next-day delivery.
Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 830 back in September, calling it "the first affordable flagship", offering high-end features such as a PureView camera with ZEISS optics, along with premium plastics and metallic bodywork. But many of its key specs are emphatically mid-range:
- 5-inch ClearBlack IPS LCD with HD (1280x720px) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3
- Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB onboard storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
- 10MP PureView rear camera with ZEISS optics, backside illuminated sensor and optical image stabilization
- 0.9MP front-facing wide-angle camera
- Integrated Qi wireless charging
- Removable 2200mAh battery
- 139.4 x 70.7 x 8.5mm, 150g
- Optional CP-627 Wireless Charging Flip Shell cover available
It's not clear how long the Lumia 830 will be available at this more palatable price - so as with any special offer, it's best not to wait too long if you're considering taking advantage of this one.
