Microsoft's mobile Gears of War game, GearsPOP!, launches this week

One of the weirdest announcements during Microsoft's presentation at E3 2018 was that of GearsPOP!, a mobile, free-to-play title that mixed the world of Gears of War with the popular Funko Pop figures. While not much has been heard about the title since then, the Redmond giant did reveal today that the game is launching as soon as this week, on August 22.

The announcement was made during today's Inside Xbox presentation, during which the company confirmed that the game will be available for Android, iOS, and Windows 10. Microsoft also revealed that the game will support cross-saves between the different platforms, so players can always pick up where they left off, regardless of the device they're using.

While there are a few more days to go until you can actually get the game, GearsPOP! is already available for pre-register on both the App Store and Google's Play Store. You can do so for iOS here, or do it here if you're using Android.
