Almost a year ago, Microsoft introduced a new base model for the Surface Book 2 with a Core i5, 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage, lowering the barrier of entry for the device from $1,499 to $1,199. Now, you can get that model for just $1,149.
According to the Microsoft Store, that's not a discounted price, so this is the lowest price ever on a Surface Book without their being some kind of limited time sale. It's worth noting, of course, that all of the Core i5 models use seventh-generation CPUs, so they're dual-core instead of quad-core, which is used in the Core i7 models. There's also no dedicated GPU, another thing that's found in the Core i7 models.
A bunch of other Surface devices are currently on sale, although those deals will end on January 26. Every other configuration of the Surface Book 2 is $200 off of its normal price, and that includes the 15-inch model that has a 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060. Most models of the Surface Pro 6 are $200 off, except for the base model, which is $100 off. Unfortunately, there are no deals on the Surface Studio 2 or Surface Laptop 2.
You can find the Surface Book 2 on the Microsoft Store here, or you can check out the Surface Pro 6 here.
