Middle-earth: Shadow of War's launch is set for the next month, and there is a new live-action trailer for fans to enjoy while they wait for the launch; complete with a gorgeous battlefield, a fire-breathing dragon, and even a troll, the new trailer is seen above.
Unlike the usual live-action trailers we are used to, this one is interactive, giving viewers a taste of how the series' nemesis system works. Essentially, actions that the player takes in the game can have repercussions, and in the trailer, viewers are given the choice of saving a friendly orc or slaying a nemesis.
The story will continue depending on the choice, with the follower either becoming a loyal ally, or an adversary, as it leads to several alternate endings.
The trailer is directed by Neil Huxley, who has worked on movies such as Avatar, Watchmen, and Ender's Game, with award-winning cinematographer of Game of Thrones and the upcoming Justice League movie, Fabian Wagner, serving as the Director of Photography.
With these high-profile Hollywood talents being involved, it's quite clear why the trailer looks so brilliant and reminiscent of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The orcs are even represented with real actors sporting prosthetics rather than the less than ideal implementation of CG orcs seen in the recent Hobbit movies.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War is launching on October 10, with it heading to Steam, Windows 10, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, where players will be able to take a stab at forming their own orc armies.
