Mojang Studios pushed out its latest Minecraft spin-off, Minecraft Dungeons, earlier this week, offering an action RPG experience that takes place in the popular blocky universe. Today, the developer detailed what's incoming to the game as part of the two DLC packs that are planned for later this year.
Carrying a new region, enemies, and more, the first DLC to arrive will be Jungle Awakens, which is slated to land sometime in July. "In this adventure, you’ll enter a distant, dangerous jungle to fight a mysterious power in three new missions," the developer detailed. "To defeat the terrors hidden among the vines, you’ll have new weapons, armor, and artifacts at your disposal."
Next up will be the Creeping Winter DLC, where players will brave frozen landscapes. The studio didn't go into more detail about this piece of content and only added that it is expected to arrive later this year.
Those who purchase the Hero Edition of Minecraft Dungeons, which currently costs $29.99, will receive the Jungle Awakens and Creeping Winter DLC packs at launch as a part of their package
The development team is also working on free content updates to the action RPG as well as cross-platform play integration. We could see a Minecraft-like situation where Windows, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4 players will be able to play together. Aside from those platforms, Minecraft Dungeons is also a part of the Xbox Game Pass library for subscription holders.
