INTEL TOLD US on Tuesday that it would be a week or so before it would be able to post the BIOS download for the "anomaly" in the 3GHz/Canterwood combo that initially led it to delay the launch. But it seems as though the much smaller third parties that are doing Canterwood combos are Quick Draw McGraws compared to Chipzilla.
We've heard that many of the third parties are already shipping the BIOS upgrade and now there's proof positive that that's exactly so. For example, here's the Gigabyte download, together with the new CPU microcode end users and integrators will need. Seems that when it comes to Turbo download mode, Intel needs an extra injection of PAT to really start kicking.
