According to a Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, Sega's crazy but fun puzzle game could be appearing on Nintendo's DS console before the end of the year.
It is likely to provide a single player mode comparable to versions on other platforms, such as recently released on the PS2 and Xbox, but may also include multi-player via the DS's wireless capabilities. The touch screen on the DS could also open new unique and interesting mini-games on Monkey Ball.
Sega isn't commenting yet, but it is expected to be announced at the Tokyo Games Show which opens on the 16th September.
