Back in March, GOG's optional Galaxy client came out of beta as it hit version 1.2. Among a slew of other features, this iteration also brought something that Steam has implemented for some time: cloud saves.
Dubbed 'Universal Cloud Saves' on GOG's site, these basically store your progress in the cloud and sync it to your machine when you either move forward in your game or are installing a title on a fresh OS. Since March, the Polish storefront has been working to bring this feature to as much of its back catalogue as possible, with some new additions just being announced. A few of these titles will have this feature enabled not only exclusively through Galaxy, but will sport cloud saves for the first time ever. Here are the titles in question:
- Deus Ex GOTY
- Deus Ex: Invisible War
- Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault
- Anno 1404 Gold
- Homeworld Emergence
- Icewind Dale 2
- Psychonauts
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: Sith Lords
- Far Cry
- Far Cry 2: Fortune's Edition
- Legacy of Kain: Defiance
- Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2
- Thief Gold
- Thief II: The Metal Age
- Syberia II
- Torchlight 2
- Throne of Darkness
- The Settlers 2: Gold Edition
- Pharaoh + Cleopatra
- Zeus + Poseidon
- The Bard's Tale
- Pizza Tycoon 2
- Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom
- Tzar: The Burden of the Crown
- Legend of Grimrock 2
- Syndicate Plus
- Syndicate Wars
- Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonshard
- Jade Empire: Special Edition
Naturally, to use this feature you need to have GOG Galaxy installed - obtainable at this link - and a supported game.
