There's a big lineup of Motorola smartphones planned to be launched in 2018, but the company seems to have yet another announcement related to last year's Moto X4 coming up soon.
The Motorola India Twitter account posted a teaser of a "faster, smarter and sharper" Moto X4, and rumors of a 6 GB variant of the smartphone have popped up online. The device is expected to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, along with the bump in memory.
The Moto X4 was launched in India two months ago at a starting price of ₹20,999 ($330) for the 3GB RAM variant and ₹22,999 ($360) for the 4GB one. If the current pricing is any indication to go by, the 6GB variant could be priced for ₹2000 ($31) to ₹3000 ($47) more. It remains to be seen whether there will be an increase in the internal storage for the rumored device.
Android 8.0 Oreo is currently rolling out to the existing versions of the Moto X4 in various markets, and on different carriers, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that the device is alleged to launch with the update out of the box. It will be interesting to see whether Motorola brings the Android One version of the device to India.
The company has mentioned February 1 as the date for the device to arrive, which is just over a week from now.
