It's been a long six months since Motorola first unveiled its plans to release a smartwatch. The untraditional "traditional" timepiece is finally expected to makes it debut, along with other devices at Motorola's upcoming press event. The event will take place at Motorola's headquarters located in the Merchandise Mart Plaza in Chicago, Illinois on September 4th, 2014.
According to SlashGear, the animated digital invitation leaves subtle hints about what might be presented at the event. While it hasn't been confirmed, it looks like we could see the announcement of a new Moto X, Moto G, the Moto 360, and various accessories. If announced, there's no doubt that the rumored Moto X + 1 and Moto 360 will take center stage during the event.
Although what could be released is all speculation at this point, it’ll be interesting to see how Lenovo’s Motorola will launch its first set of products. While Motorola has been successful in creating a diverse product portfolio thanks to its innovative features and marketing (Moto Maker / Made in America), it’ll need to reach further if it wants to capture tangible market share to survive the ever increasing pressure from its competitors.
The Motorola press event will take place on September 4th.
