IFA 2018 saw an explosion of product announcements and reveals, as it normally does. Alongside the more edgy and wacky reveals is MSI's P65 Creator. Nothing about this laptop is wacky, especially its looks.
Available in two models: silver and a limited edition all-white chassis that just looks spectacular, MSI is marketing the P65 at creators and designers, but it is also quite a potent laptop with its powerful internals. Featuring up to 8th-gen Intel Core i7 processors, up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory, and a range of GPU options ranging from the GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060 Max-Q to a GTX 1070 Max-Q on the limited edition model, this machine can handle almost any video processing or gaming workload you would want to throw its way.
The 15-inch display on the laptop has a 1080p resolution, and an alleged near 100 percent coverage of the sRGB colour spectrum. The limited edition white model also bumps up the refresh rate to 144Hz for a silky smooth FPS experience. The IPS screens will likely be a boon to content creators concerned with colour accuracy, while thin 4.9mm bezels make it a pleasure to look at from a design standpoint.
It's also relatively thin and light with its aluminium chassis coming in at 0.69 inches thick, while the whole package weighs around 4 pounds. MSI also claims 9 hours of battery, which is a respectable number for a machine with the P65's guts.
Rounding out the I/O are USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, micro-DisplayPort, Ethernet and an SD card reader. The limited edition also features Thunderbolt 3 and one year of extended warranty.
Pricing and availability were unfortunately not revealed by MSI.
