MSN Messenger 6.0 on the way?

Iexbeta and mess.be are both claiming they have spotted a reference to MSN Messenger 6.0 in the recent Windows Messenger 5.0 beta help files.

Heres what they had to say :

While browsing through the help files of the recently leaked Windows Messenger 5 beta, I came accross a reference to MSN Messenger 6.0. Open up the Windows Messenger 5 help window and click on the third item from the end of the list (Sending and Receiving Ink). Next, click on "What do you need to send or receive ink?" in the new list that opens up. Finally, scroll the right side of the box all the way down. You will see this text:

For receiving ink:

- You need a computer running Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 with Windows Messenger version 5.0 (or MSN Messenger version 6.0). The latest version of Windows Messenger can be downloaded from the Windows Messenger site.

They have also kindly provided a screenshot of their find which we have mirrored below.

Neowin can confirm we have recieved mixed reports that MSN Messenger 6 is in internal testing at the moment but nothing more. A planned public release is more than likely around the time of greenwich's release to coincide with what is now known as Windows Messenger. As they say, only time will tell.
