Microsoft has released firmware and driver updates to many of its Surface devices, specifically in the Surface Pro, Book, and Laptop families. Some of the updates target different versions of Windows, and they aim to improve connectivity and battery performance, among other things.
For starters, if you're using a Surface Pro 6 with Windows 10 version 1803 or newer, you'll see the following updates:

Both the Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2 will get the same update on Windows 10 version 1803:

In addition to those updates, there are a couple more if you're running the most recent version of Windows 10, which is the May 2019 Update or version 1903. These updates are the same for the Surface Pro (5th gen), Surface Pro 6, Surface Book, Surface Book 2, Surface Laptop, and Surface Laptop 2. They aim to improve connectivity on the devices:
Windows Update History Name | Device Manager Name |
---|---|
