For gamers, it's perhaps the single biggest week of the year. It's almost time once again for tens of thousands of people to converge on Los Angeles to attend the 2012 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3.
So what are the games that we are just itching to see and (hopefully) play at the Los Angeles Convention Center in just a few days? Actually, the number is way too many to count but we do have a few titles that stand out from the crowd.
The Elder Scrolls Online - Bethesda Softworks and developer Zenimax Online Studios will be bringing this MMO version of the Elder Scrolls universe to E3 2012. Remember how people were wondering how Blizzard might do with an MMO version of Warcraft? This game has that same feeling for us. We hope to be wowed.
Borderlands 2 - Gearbox Software and 2K Games will show up at E3 to show us some Pandora love once again in this sci-fi shooter-RPG hybrid. The original Borderlands was a surprise critical and sales hit so we have high expectations for this sequel. Image via Gearbox
Assassin's Creed 3 - We finally get out of the Middle Ages and head for The New World as this franchise moves into the American Revolution. The visual look of the game is awesome; we want to see if it plays as good as is looks at E3. Image via Ubisoft
The Last of Us - After the terrific Uncharted trilogy, we can't wait to see if developer Naughty Dog can create a new game franchise with this post-apocalyptic action game. Let's hope E3 gives us a nice glimpse of this title. Image via Naughty Dog
Dishonored - We got to see this impressive looking steampunk shooter title at QuakeCon in 2011 and we can't wait to see what developer Arkane Studios has for an encore at E3 2012. Image via Bethesda Softworks
Far Cry 3 - The first Far Cry game was set on a tropical island and had sci-fi elements. Far Cry 2 was an open world shooter set in Africa with more realism. Ubisoft has chosen to make Far Cry 3 a combo of the first two games (island setting but more realistic and open world). We want to explore this island at E3. Image via Ubisoft
Halo 4 - We admit it; we are a sucker for the Halo universe. With Bungie doing its own thing now, will Microsoft and 343 Industries be able to make a game worthy of the Halo franchise? We will learn more at E3. Image via Microsoft
Crysis 3 - Crytek makes good games and we think that Crysis 3, with its devastated New York setting and more cool nanosuit powered action will be one of E3 2012's biggest highlights. Image via Crytek
Of course there are tons of other games we want to see at E3 2012. Let us know what games you would like to see us cover in the comments.
NeoGamr and Neowin's coverage of E3 2012 is sponsored by War Inc. Battle Zone.
