Neowin caught by a storm in GMail tea cup?

Well its seems that GMail already has a loyal elegance of fan boys & malicious members. A new rival has appeared called You've Got Post boasting unlimited space and was quickly posted in Neowin's Back Page News forum.

As everyone can imagine, the "unlimited" tag is the important fact here. It seems GMail users didn't like what they heard, or maybe they did? Because they started signing up in droves and sending each other massive files and pictures using this new service. This was spurred on by members of another forum that were openly asking people to send them huge files to fill the space up even more. This was so effective that the majority of sign-ups were from that single forum.

You may say "who cares?" and with a service that sees your message to cherry pick ads for you many wouldn't. But with You've Got Post its different, in an attempt to beat its better known GMail rival, went down a different path. They decided instead of reading all your emails and sending you ads as a result they ask for occasional donations for the service insted.
