Eagle eyed Neowin user Shaun Williams (eangulus in forums) has sent us a hot tip that Google Apps for Your Domain Calendar Application now supports Google Gears for offline use. For those not familiar with GAFYD it is "a service from Google for using custom domain names with several Google products. It features several web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites, including: Gmail, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites."
The integration with Google Gears has been predicted by many but reports are now surfacing that some users have the integration live on their accounts now. For those not familiar with the Google Gears project it is an "open source project that enables web services to be used while offline".
With the combination of the two technologies users will be able to use their Google Calendar while they have no internet access and have it auto sync online the next time they are connected. No official word has come out of the Google camp yet but if you have the features enabled on your account we would like to know!
