Put on your lucky shoes and get out that rabbits foot because it is time for another great giveaway courtesy of Quixby. What is Quixby you say? Quixby is a new site that makes building a custom PC a more fluid and unique experience. Take a look at their site that draws inspiration from Microsoft's Metro design language as it neatly lays out the components you need for your next custom build.
We know that Neowin readers love to build their own machines because buying a pre-built PC is, well, not nearly as fun as shoving 8 gigs of RAM in to that new mobo you specced out for the last 3 months. The team is from Ohio and is looking for help to spread the word about their new site and has generously offered up a Lumia 900 to our readers as bait.
Quixby is straight forward process, pick out your parts, add them to your shopping cart then hit check out. The site then pre-loads a shopping car at NewEgg or Amazon to let you utilize their buying power for lower prices. Quixby simply streamlines the part selection and allows you to navigate each component in a way that makes finding the best product for your needs simple and quick.
The best part about the service is that it filters on the products you select. Say you pick an Intel Core i5-2320, when you move on to your Motherboard selection, the boards are filtered to only display the ones that will work with the CPU that you selected, no more digging through the specs to make sure its compatible with your chipset.
Finally, Quixby is still in beta but is functional, so ignore any small bugs you might see, they will be squashed very soon.
